Description
Original canons written for cello are rare. The canons found in this collection form a kaleidoscope – a large series of pictures – that span from the pedagogical level right up into the concert hall (in Volume 2).
The incomparable richness of sound possibilities found on the cello inspired me to write this work. As nothing in this direction has yet been published, these canons fi ll a vacant spot in cello literature. Beginners as well as advanced cellists will fi nd an undreamt-of wealth of expressive sounds and technically interesting concepts. Numerous performances have proven the validity of these works.
Liselotte Pasquay provided the bowings and fi ngerings referring to the phrasing style of her honoured teacher Professor August Eichhorn.
