Description
In his work “De re rublica”, Cicero describes how the eight planets revolve around the ninth, the earth, and how in between the spheres certain intervals and harmonies begin to develop. This part of “De re publica” has sparked off the composition of “Trama concèntrica” (concentric networks). However, that does not mean that Cicero’s text has been used as a model for programme music, but the text has worked as a contribution to the structure and the designing of the piece: A sequence of eight tones steering towards the ninth tone (the earth) forms the tone-material for the eight changed that lead to the ninth change, the epilogue.
