Description

“Gradually fading away from the 19 senses of youthful memories” for flute in C and clarinet in Bb (2021) is commissioned for the celebration of Japan JFC 60thand ACL 50th anniversary at the Asian Music Festival 2022 in Kawasaki, and dedicated to flutist TAKU Jun-Ichiro and clarinetist KIKUCHI Hideo.

This is the 5th piece in my Covid-19 series. During the disaster of the Covid-19 pandemic, all human beings are facing great pain of this virus spreading and hurting, all activities and social contacts are almost not going to happen. I’m grateful that the committee and members of JFC, who still keep their music passion, keep live performances possible!

In this short piece, it is my self-imagination of my 19 senses of youthful memories gradually fading away because of the pandemic hardship for all of us. But thanks to technology as we still connect with all sorts of social media, we still have hopes for building new and happy memories with our loved ones!
