Description
This unique title refers to the American composer Frank Zappa (1940–1993), who once mentioned that the bassoon is his favourite instrument. Furthermore, I took a four-notephrase from a Zappa piece as a kind of “motto” of the composition. There are no further references to Zappa’s music. Rather, the piece is based on an imaginary story, dominated by quick changes and contrasts. However, that story was just a guideline (or partly the formal framework) for my composing process. It is certainly not intended that the player, as well as the audience know anything about that “story”. Instead, everyone shall create his/her own one, based on the sounding music. For the player I have added a lot of characteridtic remarks to support his/her imagination during the playing.
