Description
Instructions for performance:
Clarinet and Piano start together, and then continue independently – without contriving any ‘vertical alignment’.
When they have both reached the final repeated bar, the pianist should follow the ‘mood’ of the clarinet (perhaps invoking Hymn-singing), but maintaining a steady tempo as the clarinet noticeably slows down. Please try to avoid any sense of ‘finality’, for example in the form of a harmonious unison in G-major.
