Felcino Bianco is a wonderful old place in Tuscany (Italy), at an altitude of approximately five hundred meters in the hills of the Arrezzo province, on the border to Umbria.

When I arrived at Felcino Bianco, at the wonderful old house, located high in the mountains, of the artistic director Elvira Bekova and her husband, manager Michael Humphreys, the first thing that I heard was the sound of cicadas… thousands of them. There was also wonderful birdsong…. and in the distance, the sound of church bells…. I thought that I should write a piece – capturing my impressions of that time, that place and those sounds.
