Description
In the northern lands, when the sun no longer sinks below the horizon, the „white nights“ have arrived. There is a faint hint of twilight, but it remains too bright to fall asleep, a compensation for the long, dark nights of winter. The light throws no shadow and the contours are vague and unclear. A night which is no night; a day which stretches to infinity and yet, when the sun is at its lowest point, is no longer truly day. There is a tense activity and nervous agility. My music seeks to capture this atmosphere. Fleeting rhythms, yet as soon as a melody or theme can be dinstinguished, it is gone, returned to the vibrating background accompaniment.
