It provides information on three different levels:
1. Horizontal (from left to right)
2. Vertical (from top to bottom and from bottom to top)
3. Diagonal (from top left to bottom right).

Instructions
With this table, chord combinations with modulations in different keys can be compiled for exercises and compositions. Specifically, this table is an aid in the following harmonic areas:
– mastering the underlying musical principle of tension and release;
– creating chord progressions in a key;
– the ability to change keys; hence mastering modulations in related keys;
– knowledge of the semitonal relationships between the keys, between each tetrachord and between the scales of the Ionian system;
– an overall view of harmony, combining the circle of fifths and the circle of fourths, the diatonic cadences of tetrachords and semitonal relationships;
– knowledge of the scales that can be used when improvising with these chord progressions.
