Helmut Mäckel composed this work in Girona in 2015. The Catalan word “el toc” has multiple meanings in the guitar world. Generally, it refers to the touch of the guitarist’s hand on his instrument. In Flamenco, it is also used for the art of the Flamenco guitar, the guitarist’s playing style or the rhythmic Flamenco form. “Món de jocs i tocs” loosely translates as “The world of games and guitar playing”. It is dedicated to the city of Girona, the world of games and guitar playing. Specifically, it is dedicated to the Gironese organization “Ludus Mundi”, which uses games as a tool for education and socialization through free game nights and workshops.
