Match 3 is a multimedia composition about masses in society. My idea was not to criticize the fact that there are masses, but to point out that there are culmination points of masses. A great source of inspiration was a seminar that I attended in the Department of Cultural Studies at Humboldt University. In this sense, one could understand this composition as a cultural-scientific treatise of masses or essay. In this piece, I dealt in particular with the aspect „found footage“. It’s about a serial order of visual objects that are worthless in themselves. The connection consists in the arrangement of similar elements, in different visual contexts. This could be interpreted as a criticism of our consumer society, which collects in masses around certain compaction points. This inevitably leads to a collapse. The society is overloaded with masses, though it has copied the image of the mass from nature. The image of the natural masses is represented by ants.
